Hopkins Minnesota is located just 11 miles Southwest of Minneapolis. The city is just four square miles in size and is surrounded by the larger west suburban communities of Minnetonka, Saint Louis Park and Edina. Hopkins offers the advantages and conveniences of a large city, but yet the security of a small, mature town.

Downtown Hopkins offers a nice variety of restaurants, coffee shops, antique and specialty shops and entertainment. Mainstreet Hopkins has developed quite the reputation for arts and entertainment, as it boasts a movie theater, a center for the arts, a school of performing arts, free concerts in the summer and Artstreet, a series of sculptures that have been installed throughout downtown.

The city of Hopkins maintains 19 public parks and nature areas for its residents, including picnic areas, skating rinks and beaches. Hopkins is also the intersection of four Three Rivers Park regional trails, which are all ideal for biking walking and running. The Depot Coffee House, a renovated train depot in Hopkins, serves as a coffee house, youth community project and trailhead for these paths.

Strong neighborhoods add to Hopkins’ small town atmosphere and build a strong sense of community between neighbors. Hopkins has an abundance of mature single family homes, as much of the community is already developed. 

Hopkins is home to an array of education options, from community education to public education and the private school sector. The Hopkins school district has an outstanding reputation and includes five elementary schools, two junior high schools and one high school. The city of Hopkins is committed to providing educational outlets for all of its residents, offering multiple public charter school alternatives and private school options.
